Amanda Klarer

Amanda Klarer manages the Marcatus QED Responsible Farming Program and the award-winning Marcatus Mobile Education Platform – a gender-inclusive educational program designed to reach and empower thousands of smallholder farmers to adopt sustainable practices and improve their yields.

Amanda has spent many years working with and learning from smallholder farmers from around the world from cacao farmers in Cameroon, small scale oil palm & pepper farmers in Malaysia, sugar beet in Morocco to pickling cucumber farmers in India. During this session, she will discuss how the private sector can play a key role in uplifting farming communities and how efforts made can contribute to business sustainability.

Marcatus QED, a Toronto-based global agri-food solutions company, has spent many years building strong sustainable partnerships with their clients, suppliers, and farmers. Marcatus QED works to uplift the value chains of smallholder farmers through education and various programs on the ground that promote everything from climate smart agricultural practices to dietary diversity.
